Aims Provide basic proficiency in the use of standard office tools : word processors, spreadsheets, databases, presentation softwares.
Present selected advanced tools, links between softwares, help functions, image treatment softwares.
Introduce the concept of Information systems.
Presentation of Internet : history, use of the Web, newsgroups, e-mail, HTML editors, site creation, FTP.
The functions of these tools in communication, as well as managerial work, are stressed.



Program General introduction : Graphical User Interface, Windows and Linux, application softwares, documents, Windows help and assistant.

Word processing : Introduction, formatting, toolbars and tools, multicolumns, mailing and merging, insertion of objects (pictures, tables, etc.), import/export, dynamic links, Web functionalities.

Spreadsheet : Introduction, cell addressing, filling and naming, formatting, raw data and formulas, references, multisheet documents, standard integrated functions, graphics, database functions, dynamic cross tables.

Presentation software : Introduction, thought organisation and presentation, formatting, tables, graphics, dynamic links, slideshows.

Information systems : Definition and roles of informations systems, databases, types of databases.

Database : Introduction, data, fields, records, tables (rows, columns), forms, filters, queries, reports, redundant information, relations, import/export, UML, creation, fields attributes.

Internet and the Web : History and introduction, efficient information search using the Web,search engines, newsgroups, e-mail, principles of and basic tools for site creation, HTML editors, FTP downward and upward.
